Welcome
Musical symbols like crescendos, trills and slurs can be added to finale scores using the Smart Shape tool. Like expressions, they help a performer to interpret and perform a piece. Let's take a look at how to add Smart Shape to a score. So I opened a 509 Smart Shape start and a 509 example files, and I've tiled them and placed them both in scroll view as we've done in past videos. So things like slurs and crescendo all fall under the category of smart shapes. We can access those by clicking the smart shape tool. Up on the main tool palette. And that's the one to the left of the expression tool. When I click that, notice that we get a floating palette that appears that shows us a bunch of shapes. We can add those by choosing one of those shapes and then double clicking and dragging to add it into the score. So for example over this first four measures we see the slur or phrase marking. So I'm going to double click the first note and you'll notice that as I drag it, you'll see the…Practice while you learn with exercise files

Excel has a color palette that is used in several ways. You can use it to color cells, rows, columns or an entire worksheet. With the color palette, you can also color text and items inside a chart. The palette is limited to only 56 colors. To add more variety, substitute a palette such as Color Manager, which is a shareware program made by the AbleBits company.
Installation
Color Manager is an add-in that works with Excel’s 2000, XP and 2003 versions. It comes with a 15-day trial limitation. Download the zipped file directly from the company, or from sites such as Tucows or Download.com. Unzip it to extract the setup.exe file. Run the file. The application will add a toolbar to the top of a current workbook. It will also add “AbleBits.com” to the menu.
Features
The toolbar has three parts, each with its own tool tip. The left side has a clickable 'Reset' button that returns the palette to the standard Excel colors. It is labeled with the tool tip “Return Standard Excel Colors.” The middle of the toolbar is a drop-down menu with several palettes such as “Autumn,” “Rainbow,” “Rainy Day,” “Sky” and the default. It is labeled “Color Palette List.” The left side of the toolbar is a clickable color palette button with the tool tip “Color Manager for Excel.” The “Color Manager for Excel” button can also be found at the “AbleBits.com” menu item.
'Palette' Button
The 'Palette' button opens a window that includes the Color Palette List. Like the default, it has top and bottom color sections. The top can color any element, while the bottom one is for chart items. The window has seven buttons on the right. To create a color palette, click a color on the left side that you want to modify. The standard color dialog panel opens. Select one of its colors, then click “OK” and “Apply.” To save the palette permanently, type a name in the palette field in the upper left side and then click “Save.” The palette will appear in the list. To delete it, select the palette, then click “Delete” and “Close.” Click “Reset” to reload the standard colors.
Using the Color Palette
Select a palette from the list menu. Alternatively, click the 'Palette' button, select the list, then click “Apply” and “Close.” The new palette replaces the standard Excel palette. Spreadsheet items can then be colored the usual way. For example, click on “Color Palette” and select “Autumn.” Select the “Fill” button from the toolbar. The new palette colors will appear. The 'Font' button on the toolbar also uses the new colors. To practice, type a word inside a cell. Select the cell and change the font. To do this, select the “Format” menu item, “Cell,” then “Font,” or simply click the “Font” button. Select a color. The inside of the cell will subsequently change. Click the “Return Standard Excel Colors” button to reload the regular palette.
Charts
Use Color Manager to change chart colors. To do so, open or create a chart in Excel and select a palette. Select a portion of the chart and use “Chart Fills and Lines” to change its color. Practice with a pie chart. Highlight 10 cells that have numbers in them. From the menu, select “Insert, “Chart,” “Chart Type” and “Pie.” Select the “Pie” from the sub-type, then “Finish.” Click on one of the areas of the pie chart. Open Color Manger, change the palette to “Autumn” and click “Apply.” In “Chart Fills & Lines” on the bottom, click on the color that matches the one in the selection you wish to change. A color window subsequently appears. Select a color, then “OK.” In the main Color Manager, click “Apply.” The chart selection will subsequently change color. Alternatively, after selecting a palette, click on one of the colors in the top section and add it to Custom Colors. Under “Chart Fills & Lines,” select the section color to change. When the window appears, select the custom color cell you added and click “OK.” Click “Apply” in the main Color Manager. The chart selection will change color. Close the window.
